Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. At the age of five and moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in her first Dragon School. Emma had a dream to become an actor from the age of at the age of six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy that offers part-time classes. From the age of 10, she took part and played the leading role in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was found by agents through her Oxford teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that after eight consecutive auditions, she and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first appearance on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. The film broke records for beginning-day and weekend-opening sales and became the top-grossing movie of 2001. Reviewers praised the film and particularly the younger actors. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in an Feature Film. Emma was nominated five times for her part in the film.
